Tech support trying to scam people

Called tech support because printer wouldn't install. They said had to pay them money for a firewall to be installed first or printer wouldn't install. Told them it was a scam they hung up on me.

False advertising

Canon Pixma MG2920: The box says it has scanning capability. It does not and after checking the operating manual, there isn't any mention made that the scanning capability is even available.

Printer won't print

I called Canon Customer Service with what seemed to be a simple problem - a Printer Offline error message and got absolutely no help at all. I was bounced around and eventually asked to fill out an online form asking for crazy details such as time and date of purchase which would not let me finish the form. The Worst customer support experience. i'm ready to throw out my printer and get another brand.

User's recommendation: Buy a more reputable brand for printers. They should stick to cameras.

Printer that will not work with Windows 10--No Customer Support

I have a Canon color printer (PIXMA IP4200. Since I used it last, I have a new computer with Windows 10. It would not work. When I called customer support, I was directed to a website. When I checked the website, the notice said: "Canon will not issue drivers for this model to support Windows 10." This means I now have an obsolete color printer. What a waste of money. I will never buy a Canon product again.

It sucks

45 min hold time then they tell you that you have to create a canon account for assistance. I bought the printer that should include customer service. Also the USB cord that CANON SAYS TO USE if Wifi connection does not work is NOT included with the printer! Never buying anything from Canon again. Customer service does NOT exist!

User's recommendation: Avoid Canon at all cost! You are tech support.

How to get "two sided print"

You need more techs. Very long time on hold Tech was very knowledgeable and patient and I got good help

Scammers

I had a problem getting my mx922 to scan, spoke with the customer service rep. I was told that he knew what the problem was so he was going to connect me with a technician to help get the connection reestablished, before making the connection with the technical team, this person with a foreign accent told me I would have to pay $190 to get the help I needed. I advised him that I could buy a new printer for that amount of money. He then told me that this time he was going to get it fixed. I was very clear that I wasnt going to pay that amount of money. He then went ahead with connecting with technician. The connection was connected but then the original person)victor) came back on the phone and requested my credit card information to pay for the service I did not pay it and informed him that theres a problem with his English and mine. After ending the call, I exited out of share and saw him poking around remotely, I unplugged my computer. Beware of these people

Poor customer service

Canon - Poor customer service
Called to get some brand support and rep hug up 3 times. Not before hearing a kid/child in the background and them speaking in an accent I couldnt understand Angry. Can I have a product and product help without creating an account these days?!?! Geez!! I will not be a Canon supporter as of this day and neither will my employees or clients. Bye..

Needed printer repairs

"Customer Service rep" didn't really have any idea what I was talking about when I tried to explain what was wrong with my printer. Gave him the error code I kept receiving and he didn't even know what it meant. If the printer gives a specific error CODE, I would think the "service reps" would know what each one stood for!! Referred me to Best Buy for repairs. BEST BUY DOES NOT DO REPAIRS ON ANY EQUIPMENT WITHOUT A WARRANTY!!! Wasted my entire day trying to find resolution for my problem. I have a small business and a good printer is essential.

User's recommendation: My suggestion: Canon printers are excellent but make sure to buy the extended warranty!!

Worst customer support ever

When you call for technical support it (automated) asks for type of printer. Give it that - it then asks for complete model number at which point it tells you to go online. No person, no support.

Printer a useless brick without drivers

I just had my work computer updated and my cannon printer wont work with it because it needs drivers for the printer. I cant call cannon because it is past a year since I purchased the computer and have no phone support. The phone message is go to the website for support. Nothing k do gets me to a real person to talk to. The website says they are no longer providing drivers. I cannot get to anyone from Cannon to get the drivers I need to use the printer I payed for. Everyone just says you have to buy a new one which Im sure is what cannon wants. I feel like cannon fodder. They just use me for their gain and care nothing for me.

Scammy, Aggressive Robbing "Customer Support"

I had bought a $20 printer and found there's no paper manual on how to set up the printer online with the disc. When went to the site and put in the info to get the instructions I got an Error message. I called up the tech people and was greeted with someone, I'm guessing, in India. I gave him the error code, and he immediately said I had Trojans on my PC. (I knew there were some bugs in my machine I've been trying to eradicate). He was accommodating at first, offering to find the Trojans and get rid of them. I allowed him to take over my machine (which I don't really like) but I was watching what he was doing. He started criticizing my antivirus and anti malware I had going, after 10 minutes of him poking around he showed me a window he said that showed over 17,000 Trojan files. Um..... they actually looked like past indicators of blocked sites and ads. Things took a turn for the ugly when he told me, not ask, TOLD me he was going to clean my PC and charge me a fee. Whoa, whoa. I asked him how much is this service. He said $70-$80 ballpark. I found that suspicious. I kept telling him I cannot pay for anything at the moment. Then he dropped the price to $50-$60. I told him I can't pay $1 right now for anything. He kept pressuring me and his tone and words were Either way you're going to be charged. After a few minutes of back and forth I got freaked out and hung up. Thinking it's a rogue employee trying to scam customers, I phoned up tech support hoping to get a different person. I got someone who sounded similar to the last guy but different name. He said he heard about my situation and there's still a fee I would be charged. I hung up. All for a $20 printer I just need to print out documents for the school.
