Charging to fix a non-exitant problem

Had the same experience as others on this page. Canon wanted to charge me $129 to remove a virus. I fixed the problem myself and it had nothing to do with a virus.

Number is non working number I'm really pissed

Poor Customer Service that Costs Money

Their customer service is atrocious - you actually have to pay $19.99 for basic phone support! I have NEVER been asked to pay money for basic customer service - unbelievable! Never buying another Canon product again.

Terrible customer service

Having trouble with my printer connection after getting a new router kept receiving error codes and reading printer was offline. I called with a simple question for a tech that would of resolved things in 2 minutes instead i was met by a rude operator who told me unless I registered my printer online threw them theres nothing she can do LOLLOLLOLLOL these people suck

Printer would not connect to the internet. Called support, they took remote control of my machine. Their conclusion was I have to $149 support for a new printer that cost $60. Crooks. I was able to fix the issue myself.

Canon is now scamming their customers. I was advised to purchase a tech plan for 3 years service at the cost of $500 for a $60 dollar printer

Same *** here. I have Not been able to connect my printer to the internet.

. Every time I call I get switched to a recording telling me to call back when I know the model name ofthe printer which I gave them in the very beginning. 5 times they hung up on me. If by chance you get through they put you on hold and leave you there.

1 hr.and a half I waited. No one ever came back.

DONT BUY FROM CANON. !!!!!!!

Bought new printer, scam set up error

The printer i bought was supposed to be set up via wireless it is set to give you an error which directs you to a scam for computer services you do not need to set up the printer. The cost of which was outrageous. This is set in the instructions and all help was unable to do anything till you get to the scam.

User's recommendation: Do not use online services to set up your printer , they are just trying to sell you something you do not need.

I run Linux Mint as my Op.System. I want to connect to my MX492 Canon Printer to my Computer WIFI. The *** automated response is zero.

User's recommendation: Do Not Deal with companies using Autoresponce for customer service.

Wanted to find out about possible battery replacement for my camcorder. (1) Canon only has phone number (2) In order to get to technical service you need to fill out a product registration, then once you have been accepted you can call in (3) When I called in I was told that my one year had expired (had unit several years), and that I would have to pay for support. (4) because my model/ or the date purchased I was told via prepared recording that they could no longer help me. In other words I am out of choices. It's bad enough that you're being told you will be charged for any type information you need from factory, but if your product is out of date then they want no parts of dealing with you

User's recommendation: Never buy products from Canon unless you understand you won't get service.

You are correct. There service contract says they will have my camera on its way back to me, fixed, within 7 days after I pay for the repairs.

My camera was delivered and sat there for 7 days before being entered into theIr system. Now it’s been in their system for 29 days. First they had to order a part. Now they need further testing.

I paid $380 a month ago. Still no camera.

Don't waste time with their tech support

Had an error message when printing a picture on an MX 922. "No paper in upper cassette". Chatted with rep who instructs me to press the "resume" button. None such on the unit!. When I mentioned it, he asked me to call 888 454 ****. Foreign sounding tech poked around my desktop before declaring that the problem is that printing drivers are obsolete but can be replaced for $70... I had mentioned that the issue never arose before trying to print a photo. I guess he did not hear or want to hear...He never tried to replicate the error. After several call disconnects, I gave up. Later, I had no problem printing the picture as a document, i.e. from the lower cassette, or as a pic with photographic paper in the problematic tray. You would think that's the first thing a competent tech would think of...

Avoid Canon but also avoid HP. Both force you to use their ink and...

HP ink will only work if sanctioned by them. Any other ink will jam the printer to the point where it just says "Paper jam". Believe Me I could not believe it so I went back and forth to be sure. HP ink only in HP. BUT CANON! new Canon ink just does not work period end of story. I paid the high cost of the Canon ink to avoid problems. They are worse then HP because the printer will not let you use just black. If the printer does not recognize your ink cartridge you cannot print. period. My office is out of business because of Cannon.

Do not buy due to lack of customer support.

MG5220 printer stopped working via WiFi for apple devices. It does work with hardwire or WiFi with Windows. Primary issue is not customer support. Phone tree does not lead to a person. No email or online tech support available.
