Canon Printer
I am completely put out with Canon. I have a Canon IP100 which is a portable printer, not cheap, $250 and after 2 years the print head went out. Being a portable printer it is rarely used. Canon Customer Support was NO help. I took the printer to a certified Canon Repair Facility and was told that the repair would be more than the value of the printer. I'm Sorry, it dies after two years!!! This is my forth Canon Printer and after this experience, I will NEVER buy another Canon product. I hope someone from Canon Reads this as I am after you.

Worst Customer Service Ever - Canon Business Solutions Copy & Fax Machines
Worst customer service ever. I bought a fax machines from Canon Business Solutions with an annual service contract. The service contract allow Canon Business Solutions to increase their annual price at their discretion. Each year Canon increases the price of the annual service by 10%. When I have called to ask for a lower annual support service increase, I have spoken with their Service Manager, Stan Wrobel. When I suggest that CPI goes up by 1 to 4% per year Stan Wrobel, Canon's Service Manager, reads me the riot act telling me he can set the prices where ever he wants and that I am out of line to ask him to only raise prices likewise. It's one thing to say no to a polite request but it's another thing to be extremely rude and aggressive about it and to patronize me by suggesting that I should instead focus on gouging my customers instead of wasting his time.

Out of toner message when toner is almost full
Canon MF4350D printer gives Out of Toner message and prevents consumer from printing, even when there is a lot toner. It forces you to buy new toner to replace the existing toner which almost full, hardly used toner. Called customer support. The technician does not help at all. The technician told me since the toner is over one year old, it has to be replaced, even though I hardly had printed any pages. This is a completely BS. Toner does NOT dry, does NOT expire after one year. That is simply company's ways to force consumers to buy expansive replacement toner when not needed. It adds waste to environment just for the company's profits

Cannon PowerShot A95
I purchased a Cannon PowerShot A95 camera about 5 years ago and paid over $300. I thought this would be the last camera I would ever need. I have babied this camera and was happy with it until recently. Now all it shows is a blur in the LCD screen and that's exactly what every picture now looks like. I have gone through the manual 20 times and finally called a camera repair shop. They want $100+ (including shipping)to send it back to Cannon for repair. Screw that! I am sending it back to Cannon to tell them to show it up their *** and to properly dispose of it. It was supposed to be one of the highest rated cameras in its class at the time. I will never buy another Cannon product. I am headed to Butte, America today to buy a new Nikon with a 21x zoom.

Canon Vixia HF S20 Does Not Connect to Computer
As a test, I shot about 10 minutes worth of video with this camera. Upon returning home, I connected the camera to my Mac PowerBook. Nothing happened. The computer did not recognize the camera, and it did not attempt to install anything. Next, I installed all of the included software on my Windows 7 laptop (which is brand new), and then connected to the camera to the laptop. Again, nothing. Zip. Nada. I then installed all of the latest updates for the Canon software. Again, nothing. Zip. Nada. I perused the Canon support site, and the knowledge base came up empty with every search I attempted. I am SICK AND TIRED of buying DEFECTIVE products that don't work out of the box, and that expect consumers to do all of the work for these companies. We have to download updates, perform firmware updates, troubleshooting, etc., and all of this just to use their lousy products. (And, BTW, I'm an IT guy with 20 years experience, so what is the poor layperson supposed to do with this brick?) Then, on Sunday, I tried to call Canon's support number. Of course, they were closed. So, on top of all of the above, Canon expects their customers to do their work for them - on company time! So, I either have to try to do this on my lunch hour, or take a @#@%# day off from work to fix their DEFECTIVE GARBAGE. These electronics companies really need to get out of the software/computer business. If they really are that incompetent (which they apparently are), then hire a third-part IT company that knows what they are doing to manage this for you. Canon has exactly one (1) shot at getting this camera talking to either of my computers (I own 4), and if they can't, this POS is going back to the place I bought it from, AND I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CANON PRODUCT AS LONG AS I LIVE, SO HELP ME GOD! And, I WILL post this message on EVERY FORUM I CAN FIND! Bob Lee

Canon Can't Design Good Products nor stand behind them
Several years ago I became extremely frustrated with the Canon company, maker of copiers for home and office. I struggled very hard to find a customer service phone number or email address. After I did I posted the problems I had with one of their faulty copiers in an attempt to be made whole for the loss I suffered. To make a long story short, their customer service representative took about a week to get back with me. He kept the exchange going by asking me questions having little to do with the concerns I had. It seemed like a ploy to wear me down and make me go away. The only resolution that Canon could come up with was that I send in the copier for repair, all at my expense, or go out and buy a new copier from them with similar features. I'm a mechanical design engineer so I feel at least a little qualified to comment upon the malfunctions of the machine and the cause of this malfunction. I will never buy another Canon product again after this experience and strongly recommend that anybody reading this strongly consider how much complete loss they would be willing to withstand from Canon in the event that their new purchase of a Canon product eventually results in product failure, especially after the warranty expires. "Hello, Several years ago on December 18, 2007 I purchased the PC 150 personal copier, SERIAL NUMBER KAF01941. I truly enjoyed its use and compactness. During that time, because of infrequent use, I've only needed to purchase one toner cartridge. Canon is to be congratulated on a great line of products. I do have one great concern. This model is designed to store with the paper support trays folded over the lid/sliding platen. Yesterday I leaned over to turn on the copier then unfold/unlock the paper trays. In the process the rubber eraser I held loosely in my hand dropped from my hand and struck the print button. The copier was then activated and attempted to copy and print while nothing was in the machine to be copied and while the cover was still locked in place. Since the platen was locked in place the copier's internal gears continued to spin and click until I was able to unplug the machine. The copier is now useless because nothing happens when I hit the copy button. In short, a very mild and predictable accident has lead to the destruction of my copier. I question how Canon engineers have designed a machine without any safety interlocks that will prevent the machine from destroying itself and its drive mechanism simply by pushing the copy button. My common sense makes me believe that it is highly predictable to expect that the copy button could be pushed deliberately or accidentally while the platen is secured by the paper trays. My sense tells me that a well designed copier should not self-destruct when an eraser falls on it. I do not recall reading any product literature warning me about this kind of occurrence. What can I do to get my machine working again? Otherwise, it is still like new. Thank you so much for your prompt reply. http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=126&modelid=10515 "

Canon builds junky cameras
CANON the compcny making all sorts of electronic products makes the worst digital cameras on the market. In a five year period I have had ( 7 ) seven Mod S1Is cameras. 200.00 to 400.00 for these cameras. 2 ( two) Mod S3Is . Of 9 cameras I have two that are still functioning and Canon takes the additude that "It's out of warrenty so the consumer has to pay" Pure junk; will never have another item of any kind made by CANON.A company that has had such a notable name for years to become this awful and doesn't seem to give a ***.

CANON FINANCIAL SERVICE
Be very careful if you ever want to lease a copier machine. I assumned a Canon Copier lease when I bought a retail store over a year ago. The Canon copier is an OK machine but Canon Financial Services which maintains the lease is nothing more than a bunch of loan sharks. Their billing statements are nothing more than random numbers on poorly laid out billing statement. Confusion billing is a term I have heard it called. Then, there is Canon Business Solutions, a seperate entity from Canon Business solutions. They are to maintain the leased equipment. There statements look the same as Canon Financial. Both of these companies reside at an address on Collector's Drive. The street address says it all, "Collector's Drive". These shell companies of Canon are nothying more than a collection agency. Beware of ever doing business with these guys and never assume the lease of any business equipment.

Canon Copiers rip you off with the ink cost
I purchased a Canon MX 860 copier. My old Canon copier performed to my satisfaction. I have one major complaint with the new Canon. The Ink cartridges are smaller and the ink cartridges have to be bought from Canon. + My ink supplier, Cartridge World cannot supply a refill cartridge, because Canon has a chip in the ink supply cartridge. This maybe true with other suppliers of copiers, I am not sure. Canon rips you off in two ways. 1. Smaller cartridges and 2.no way to refill the old cartridge. The copier performs ok, but not as good as my old one. Jack, in California

NEVER buy Canon Again
Canon G7 not properly designed. Plastic parts not treated for electrostatic discharge creates HUGE differentials on the plastic parts when the lens is opened and closed. Nearby particles are drawn in by this charge. Although, the pressure differential draws particles in when the lens expands, it is far less a problem than the lack of electrical coatings on plastic lens components. The G10 has this problem and I'm sure the G11 also has the problem. TIP: Keep your camera in a dust proof bag or case. Also, Be careful when pulling the camera out of the bag or case as this generates the charge the Canon so thoughtlessly disregarded. You can see examples on Youtube of this problem. Price to clean the lens = $140 plus shipping. This will happen repeatedly so be prepared to spend this $140 on a regular 3 to 4 month basis depending on the climate and how you handle your camera. Total cost of ownership for 2 years>$1,000 but you will buy another camera before that happens like me (I am buying an Olympus E-P1 now. No more Canon ever).

Canon Imagerunner C3220
The Canon Color imageRUNNER C3220 has worked well at the beginning but now constantly jams once a month or start to print yellow copies. The machine has to be in good working conditions at all times for the high demand that we’re doing at the Miami International Airport. The Canon always seems to break down when we have big jobs that comes from the upper management. Another problem with the Canon Color imageRUNNER C3220 in the color. We’ve has a Xerox Docu Color 12 copies for twice as long as the Canon and still get better colors and performance with the old machine. For the money that we’re spending on our Canon’s I think the performance should be top notch.

When a printer is used infrequently ink dries in the print head adding to wear and tear. Usage instructions such as regular cleanings and maintenance procedures are outlined in you manual.
Your print head is replaceable for about $70, this will include 2 new cartridges.
With your next printer, ensure you understand the maintenance instructions or else you will find you will be replacing cartridges or printers very quickly.
